Motina Quilted Placemat

All the pieces in the Table collections are designed to mix and match with one another, although each one also shines on its own. This organic cotton placemat is hand-printed in Jaipur, India, using an ancient block-print technique. The placemat measures 30 x 40 cm.

The workshop Table collaborates with has been using this technique for four generations and is Sedex-certified, a label guaranteeing social and ecological commitment throughout the manufacturing process.

Block printing is an artisanal technique that accentuates the "colouring" effect, giving the item an imperfect look. Pieces are illustrated with patterns drawn in three ranges of bright colours by Table's Caroline and Alice in their Marseille workshop. The designs are inspired by elementary geometric shapes: stripes, checks and polka dots.
